EDWARD LAMB INSTRUCTED IN 2 IMPORTANT CASES IN THE FAMILY DIVISION RELATING TO INTERNATIONAL RELOCATION OF CHILDREN.
Edward has been instructed in 2 important cases that are currently being heard in the High Court. One involving the status of a child abducted from Tunisia to the UK and the other, dealing with a return application in relation to children resident in Cyprus. Both cases are to be reported in the legal press later in the year.
EDWARD LAMB APPEARS IN LEADING CASE ON CONSULAR NOTIFICATION DUTIES IN THE FAMILY COURT
O, Re (A Child: The Vienna Convention on Consular Relations 1963)  EWHC 908 (Fam) (14 April 2021)
Edward Lamb appeared on behalf of the local authority and, in this matter before the High Court which has published a Judgment that provides important guidance to local authorities on the extent of their notification duties under Article 37 of the Vienna Convention on Consular Relations 1963.
The question arose as to whether a local authority is under a duty to notify a relevant consular authority that a child is the subject of public law proceedings in which a children’s guardian has been appointed to represent his/her interests.

Edward has recently been appointed to the prestigious panel of counsel (barristers) who are able to receive work from government departments. Edward was appointed for a 5 year term and followed a competitive application process.
EDWARD LAMB IN A LEGAL FIRST ON SKYPE
Edward Lamb was counsel in a legal first last month. Mr Justice Mostyn, along with 6 lawyers, 11 witnesses, 3 experts and 2 journalists all conducted an important High Court hearing by Skype.
The Judgment was handed down on 27 March 2020, CCG v. A  EWCOP 16. The central question was whether it was in A’s best interests, a man in his 70s who suffered a stroke in 2016, to continue to receive clinically assisted nutrition and hydration (CANH).

Edward Lamb, led by Andrew Bagchi QC successfully settled a long-running and important case. The case involved complicated company valuations and assessment of expert actuarial evidence.
